For students seeking the fastest path to an MBA, there is no shortage of accelerated programs available. Some schools claim that their MBA programs can be completed in less than two years, while others say it takes fewer than 16 months. Some super-accelerated programs can be completed in just 12 months and the fastest of them all, in less than 12 months.
So, just how do these schools cram two to three years of study into less than one? And what kind of student would be up to the challenge? For starters, students in accelerated MBA programs typically have a degree in business and most of these students would be considered “exceptional.” After all, it does takes a tremendous amount of drive, determination, and discipline to complete in 12 months or less, what takes many students two to three years to complete.
Next, accelerated MBA programs have a unique format and structure that covers topics at a very rigorous pace, instead of covering one topic in the standard amount of time. These programs typically follow a cohort-style format, where students progress through the program as a group. Each subject is presented over a shorter time period than it would be in a traditional program. In addition to shorter courses, most students in accelerated MBA programs will continue their studies through the summer and the winter breaks.
If you think you have what it takes to complete a super-accelerated MBA program, these schools are more than willing to let you try. Read on.
