1. University of Texas at Dallas, Dallas, Texas
The Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas-Dallas offers a professional MBA (PMBA) that allows students up to 72 months to finish and a hybrid MBA that takes 21 to 23 months to complete. The AACSB International-accredited PMBA utilizes "streaming audio lectures, video clips, online exams and online submission of assignments, and interactivity for group projects using discussion forums, email, and web conferencing." The hybrid MBA programs allows students to complete their degree by attending just five classroom retreats, through online coursework, and via web conferences.
The 53-credit-hour online MBA and hybrid programs offer 24 hours of electives, with an impressive 12 concentrations. Just a few include Accounting, Information Systems, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Real Estate, and Supply Chain Management. All online MBA students, regardless of concentration, are encouraged to participate in the school's International Study Programs which "give direct exposure to business in a global context."
2. Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona
The W.P Carey School of Business at Arizona State University offers an AACSB International- accredited online MBA that requires just one meeting at the beginning of the program. This mandatory orientation session allows students to meet W.P. Carey faculty, staff, students, and teammates. After orientation, coursework for the 36-credit-hour program may be completed entirely online.
The online MBA at W.P. Carey allows students to customize their MBA by declaring an area of emphasis in Finance, International Business, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management. Students also have the option to earn two degrees in less time and at a lower cost. Concurrent degree options include the MBA/Master of Legal Studies, the MBA/MSE Electrical Engineering, and the MBA/MS Industrial Engineering.
3. University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona
The Eller College of Management at University of Tucson offers a 45-credit-hour online MBA (OMBA) that allows students to earn their degree 100% online in as little as 14 months. The program, which does not offer specific concentrations, requires at least 17 credit hours of electives. This allows students to study in one or more areas of interest. Just a few elective options include Negotiations, Project Management, Social Media Marketing, and Information Security in Public and Private Sectors.
Start dates for the AACSB International-accredited OMBA at Eller College of Management are flexible and frequent, with two sessions per fall, spring and summer semesters. Students can expect two core courses and two or more elective course offerings during each session. While students may complete their degree entirely online, Eller encourages students to “visit when they are able to take advantage of professional talks and networking events on campus.”
4. West Texas A&M University – College of Business, Canyon, Texas
The College of Business at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) offers a 31 to 49-credit-hour MBA program that may be completed entirely online. Students may also “combine online courses with campus courses to meet degree requirements.” Regardless of delivery format, all MBA students may choose an optional emphasis area such as Computer Information Systems, Management, Marketing, or Healthcare Management.
Accredited by AACSB International, the online MBA at WTAMU’s College of Business may be completed within a two-year period. However, some students have completed the program in as few as 12 to 18 months.
5. University of North Texas, Denton, Texas
The College of Business (CoB) at University of North Texas offers three MBA programs that may be completed 100% online. Programs include the MBA in Finance, the MBA in Strategic Management, and the MBA in Marketing. The coursework for each 36-credit-hour online MBA is identical to the school’s traditional MBA program and may be completed in as little as two years.
The College of Business also offers another delivery format for students interested in completing coursework on campus and online. The blended format (50% online and 50% face-to-face) is also identical to the school’s traditional MBA and consists of 36-credit-hours of coursework. All MBA programs offered through the College of Business at University of North Texas hold AACSB International accreditation.
6. Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas
Sam Houston State University’s College of Business offers a 36-credit-hour online MBA that offers fall, spring, and summer enrollment. The newly launched program does not offer any concentrations and elective options are limited. However, as the program grows, online students can expect more options. Currently, the general MBA program may be completed in as few as four semesters. Working professionals typically complete the AACSB International-accredited program in approximately two years.
7. Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado
The College of Business at Colorado State University offers an online Professional MBA that dates back to 1975 when the first “distance” offering was introduced. Today, the 40-credit-hour program is offered 100% online and features three specializations including Computer Information Systems, Finance, and Marketing. The AACSB International-accredited program also offers a Certificate in Federal Financial Management.
Students may participate in an optional International Seminar, which consists of an international business study trip. Even if a student opts for the International Seminar, the online MBA program may be completed in as little as 21 months. However, students are permitted to take up to five years to complete the program.
8. Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas
The Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University offers a 36-credit-hour Executive MBA that may be completed entirely online. The eMBA program features a unique concentration in Energy Finance or students may opt for the General Business eMBA. According to the program, “students are admitted to the Executive MBA program as a cohort and take classes in a lock-step progression. Typically, students will be enrolled in two classes (six credit hours) per semester for six semesters.” This means full-time students can expect to complete the program in two years.
The online Executive MBA program at Texas Southern is fully accredited by AACSB International.
9. University of Nevada - Reno, Reno, Nevada
The College of Business at the University of Nevada - Reno offers an Executive MBA (EMBA) program that may be completed entirely online. Exams are taken through ProctorU—an online proctoring service, or in the 365 Learning Office if the student chooses this option. The
36-credit-hour program is designed to be completed in just two years, with each class lasting 12 weeks. As part of the College of Business at UNR, the online EMBA is fully accredited by AACSB International.
10. Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma
Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business offers an online MBA program that may be completed entirely online. The 48-credit-hour program is classified as a part-time program and it allows 15 credit hours of electives for students wishing to focus on one or more unique subjects. Just a few courses include Dilemmas and Debates, Venture Capital, Crucial Interactions, and Advanced Information Technology for E-Commerce. The program does offer a concentration for individuals interested in the business side of the dental field or dentists in private practice. The online Dental MBA is a 36-credit-hour program that includes 30 hours of requires courses and six hours of elective coursework.
The Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University is now fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. The school earned accreditation in March of 2014.
11. University of Colorado - Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs, Colorado
The College of Business at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs offers an MBA program that may be completed entirely online. Students may also complete the program through a combination of online and on campus courses. The Distance MBA (DMBA) program offers eight emphasis areas online and it requires a minimum of 36 hours of coursework to graduate, up to a maximum of 48. Emphasis areas include Finance, General Business, Health Care Administration, Innovation Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, and Project Management.
The AACSB International-accredited program has three start times: fall, spring, and summer and it typically takes two to three years to complete. However, the General Business MBA (no concentration) may be completed in as little as 18 months. Students have up to five years to complete the degree program.
12. University of Phoenix, Multiple Locations
The University of Phoenix offers an online MBA that consists of 36 to 54 credit hours of study. Students must take 36 credit hours of cores + 15 credits of elective courses to complete a focus area. Focus areas include Accounting, Energy Management, Global Management, Health Care Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Project Management, and Technology Management. The ACBSP-accredited online MBA is designed to take just 18 months to complete
13. University of Texas - Brownsville, Brownsville, Texas
The School of Business at University of Texas Brownsville (UT Brownsville) offers a 48-credit-hour MBA program that may be completed entirely online. The non-thesis, General MBA includes courses such as Accounting for Managers, Quantitative Analysis, Production and Operations Management, and Marketing Management. In addition to UT Brownsville, participating universities for the online MBA program include UT Arlington, UT Pan American, UT Permian Basin, and UT San Antonio. As part of the School of Business at UT Brownsville, all business programs are accredited by AACSB International.
14. University of Houston - Victoria, Victoria, Texas
The School of Business Administration at the University of Houston - Victoria offers a Global MBA program that requires 64-credit-hours of study. The online MBA program takes under four years to complete (part-time). Available concentrations for the online program include Accounting, Finance, General Business, Management, and Marketing. As part of the School of Business Administration at UHV, the online Global MBA is accredited by AACSB International.
15. University of Houston - Clear Lake, Houston, Texas
University of Houston - Clear Lake offers the only online MBA program in Houston accredited by AACSB International. The MBA offers four optional concentrations including Human Resource Management, Finance, Management of Technology and Environmental Management. Offered through the School of Business, the 36-credit-hour program takes anywhere from two to three years to complete.
16. Texas A&M University - Commerce, Commerce Texas
Texas A&M University’s College of Business offers an MBA program that may be completed entirely online. The 30- to 48-credit-hour program offers Minor options in Accounting, Economics, Finance, International Business, Marketing, and Management of Technology. Students may also earn an MBA in British Studies, which would require a summer session at King’s College in London. The Online MBA program at Texas A&M is accredited by AACSB International.
17. Regis University, Denver, Colorado
The College of Professional Studies at Regis University offers a 36-credit-hour online MBA program. Students may choose the General MBA curriculum or an area of specialization. Specializations include Finance and Accounting, Health Industry Leadership, Marketing, Operations Management, Organizational Performance Management, and Strategic Management. The college also offers a unique bilingual MBA option—Emerging Markets (ITESO Bilingual Program) and an accelerated online MBA option.
The College of Professional Studies at Regis University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and it is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).
18. Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas
The College of Business Administration at Tarleton State University offers an online MBA program that allows students to complete most of their coursework online. According to the program, students will have to visit a venue (to be determined during the course of the program) to take the comprehensive exam only. Otherwise, students will “use the Internet to interact with the instructor and classmates via e-mail, chat, and discussion boards.” Accredited by ACBSP, the Online MBA at Tarleton State takes as few as two years to complete.
19. Texas A&M - Kingsville, Kingsville, Texas
The College of Business Administration at Texas A&M (Kingsville) offers a Global MBA program that may be completed “exclusively online.” The 30-credit-hour program features advanced coursework in Global Accounting, Global Economics, Global Finance, and more. Students may take up to nine electives in other areas of business as well from Accounting to Technology. The Global MBA program at Texas A&M takes 24 to 30 months to complete and it is fully accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
20. Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, Oklahoma
The John Massey School of Business (JMSB) at Southeastern Oklahoma State University offers a 36-credit-hour MBA program that may be completed entirely online. The AACSB International-accredited program features eight-week block classes, an MBA prep program for non-business majors (JMSB Prep Program), and three concentration areas. Options include Entrepreneurship, Management, and Health Care Information Systems. Students may begin the program at the beginning of the fall, spring, or summer semesters and they can expect to complete the program in two to three years.
21. Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Arizona
The College of Business at Grand Canyon University (GCU) offers a number of MBA degrees for aspiring business professionals of all kinds. Students may opt for the General MBA, which consists of 34 credit-hours of study or add an additional eight credits to earn an MBA emphasis in one of six areas. Emphasis areas include Accounting, Finance, Health Systems Management, Leadership, Marketing, and Strategic Human Resource Management. An additional 46-credit-hour MBA program is available for students that have not met prerequisite requirements, as well as a Dual MBA/MS in Leadership. The ACBSP-accredited MBA programs at GCU may be completed entirely online in as little as 18 to 23 months
22. Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, Utah
Western Governors University (WGU) offers several MBA programs that may be completed entirely online. Offerings include the General MBA (34 credit hours), the MBA with an IT Management emphasis (35 credit hours), and the Healthcare MBA (36 credit hours). Coursework for each program takes place during three to four terms. Each term is a full six months in length and students may complete as much of their degree as possible during each term. The MBA programs at WGU may be completed in a few as 18 months to two years.
Western Governors University is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).
23. University of Texas – Pan American (Consortium), Edinburg, Texas
The College of Business at University of Texas – Pan American (UTPA) offers a 36-credit-hour online MBA that may be completed in 12 months. Students can expect to take courses such as Managerial Economics, Management Information Systems, Social Media in Business and more. The UTPA online MBA is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.
24. University of Colorado - Denver, Denver, Colorado
The Business School at the University of Colorado – Denver offers more than five MBA programs to accommodate a wide range of backgrounds. Students interested in an online or hybrid format typically choose the Professional MBA. Accredited by AACSB International, the MBA program may be completed entirely online or through a blend of campus courses, hybrid courses and online courses. While the school offers 16 specializations, just four are available online. The 48-credit-hour program features specializations in Finance, Enterprise Technology Management, Information Systems, and Managing for Sustainability. Depending on the student’s life and work demands, the online MBA program may be completed in as few as 16 months.
25. University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler Texas
The College of Business and Technology at University of Texas at Tyler offers a 36-credit-hour online MBA with tracks in Total Quality Management, Organizational Development, and Healthcare Management. The Healthcare Management track is offered in seven-week sessions. MBA students may also focus their MBA on Accounting, Marketing, Finance, or Management by choosing from a variety of elective courses. Students can expect to complete the AACSB International-accredited program in 18 to 24 months.
