31. Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York
The Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology Online Executive MBA (EMBA) program delivers 49 credit hours of study in just 17 months. The accelerated program “focuses on building skills in innovation, teamwork, leadership, globalization, and strategic thinking,” to help students “thrive in the global marketplace.” As part of Saunders College of Business, the EMBA program is fully accredited by AACSB International.
32. University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio
The Carl H. Linder College of Business at the University of Cincinnati introduced a new online MBA program in spring 2014. The 38 to 48-credit-hour program is AACSB International-accredited and provides core skills in Economics, Marketing, Information Technology, Accounting, and Leadership. Linder online MBA Students can expect to earn their degree in 24 to 32 months.
33. Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida
The College of Business at Florida State University offers two online MBA programs. Prospective students may choose between the online MBA, with elective courses that may be tailored to three focus areas, and the online MBA with a Real Estate specialization. The 39-credit-hour online MBA can be tailored for Management Information Systems, Real Estate or Sales Management, and it may be completed in two to 2.5 years or seven semesters.
Online MBA students may participate in the Global Business Seminar for Graduate Students, which allows students to study abroad in Seoul, South Korea at firms such as Samsung Electronics, LG, Hyundai and Kia. The program, which also features several cultural excursions, focuses on the "globalization and sustainability of Korean multinational firms."
The online MBA with a Real Estate specialization also consists of 39 credit hours and features a “rigorous set of elective courses focused on real estate and analysis.” The program, which also offers a study abroad option, may be completed in two to 2.5 years. Both the online MBA and online MBA-Real Estate are AACSB International-accredited.
34. Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas
Sam Houston State University’s College of Business offers a 36-credit-hour online MBA that offers fall, spring, and summer enrollment. The newly launched program does not offer any concentrations and elective options are limited. However, as the program grows, online students can expect more options. Currently, the general MBA program may be completed in as few as four semesters. Working professionals typically complete the AACSB International-accredited program in approximately two years.
35. James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia
James Madison University’s College of Business offers several MBA programs that may be completed via a blended format of instruction. Options include an Innovation MBA, Information Security MBA, and an Executive Leadership MBA. The Executive Leadership MBA requires the least amount of face-time. Students in the program must complete one Saturday residency per month in McLean, Virginia. The program features small cohort sizes and the 14 required courses can be completed in 28 months. All of the MBA programs at James Madison University are AACSB International accredited.
36. State University of New York at Oswego, Oswego, New York
The School of Business at State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego offers a fully online Management MBA that requires 36 graduate credit hours of core, directed electives, and elective study. The AACSB International-accredited program is open to students that do not have a business degree. However, non-business degree students may have to take up to 63 credit hours of coursework to complete the program. In addition to completing the program online, students that prefer “some” classroom time, may complete the SUNY Oswego online MBA through a combination of online and on-campus courses (hybrid).
The SUNY at Oswego online MBA program practices a rolling admission policy, so students may start either program at any time of the year.
37. University of Tennessee-Martin, Martin, Tennessee
The College of Business and Global Affairs at the University of Tennessee-Martin (UT Martin) offers a 33-credit-hour online MBA program that may be completed in just 20 to 21 months. “Geared toward the financial services industry,” the cohort-based program allows students to take one class at a time. The AACSB International-accredited program emphasizes that it has just 20 students per cohort.
Because the UT Martin online MBA is open to “anyone holding a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, regardless of undergraduate major,” students come from all walks of life. Trips to campus are not required, so all interaction between the programs diverse group of students and faculty takes place via discussion boards, email, virtual classrooms, and virtual group meeting rooms. Other assignments and exams are completed and submitted online.
38. Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania
The Villanova School of Business at Villanova University offers an online MBA program that consists of 21 courses taken over six 14-week semesters. The program requires “one intensive residency” in the first or second semester of the program. The campus-based “Leadership Challenge” is a three-day residency that “provides an environment for students to engage in group work and begin to develop a learning community with their classmates.” An optional second residency is on the menu as well. The residency (The Global Practicum) features an elective immersion in Dubai, United Emirates; Sydney, Australia; Milan Italy; Belgium and Poland, The European Union, or Shanghai and Beijing, The People’s Republic of China. A domestic option is available for students who are unable to travel.
While students are required to visit the campus once, all coursework for the AACSB International-accredited MBA program is delivered online.
39. East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina
The College of Business at East Carolina University (COB at ECU) offers an AACSB International-accredited MBA program that features several delivery methods—entirely online, on-campus, or a combination of the two. The program takes a minimum of 33 credit hours up to a maximum of 54 credit hours (18 classes) to complete. Students may take classes at their own pace (between one to five classes per semester) and classes may be taken in any order. The program takes flexibility a step further by offering time off. Students have the option to take a semester or more off—if needed.
40. Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs, North Carolina
The Godbold School of Business at Gardner-Webb University offers a 36-credit-hour MBA that may be completed entirely online. The program requires 30 hours in the core and six hours of electives. Students have a number of emphasis areas to choose from including Accounting, Banking and Financing, International Business, Healthcare Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Human Resources Management, Management Information Systems, and Tax Accounting.
Students that would like some face time may take several MBA courses at campuses in Boiling Springs, Charlotte, Statesville, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina as well as Spartanburg Springs, South Carolina. All MBA programs at the Godbold School of Business are ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs)-accredited.
